Woodland Healthcare Sponsors Family Fun Barn at 2009 Yolo County Fair
Fair attraction features free craft projects for kids

Woodland, CA, August 10, 2009 - Families with children who visit the 2009 Yolo County Fair can participate in free activities like fun craft projects, hands-on science experiments and making ice cold fresh smoothies at the Family Fun Barn, sponsored by Woodland Healthcare.

The Family Fun Barn is designed as a family friendly venue offering fun projects for kids and valuable resource information for parents during the 2009 Yolo County Fair from August 19 to August 23.

"We're excited to be involved with this year's Family Fun Barn," said Lourdes Edralin, marketing communications manager at Woodland Healthcare. "It's a place where parents can work on fun projects together with their kids and learn about all the wonderful local resources available for families in Yolo county."

Each day at the barn will feature a different theme and crafts that coincide with each theme. Recyclable materials are used for the craft projects, items that can be found at home, such as old jigsaw puzzle pieces, toilet paper tubes and plastic Easter eggs. There will also be a rotating guest craft resource table featuring the Davis Art Center, the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Yolo County, Families Supporting Adoption and the Woodland Davis Aeromodelers.

The popular "Smoothie Bike" will be back again this year at 6 p.m. every day of the fair. People can take turns pedaling the bike, which powers an attached blender that mixes ice cold strawberry, banana and pineapple smoothies.

Also featured at the barn for nursing mothers is Rock 'N Relax, an air conditioned private breastfeeding room equipped with rocking chairs, a changing table and a mirror. Breastfeeding resource information will be available in the room.

The Family Fun Barn is presented by the Yolo County Children's Alliance. The venue will be open from Noon to 9 p.m. every day of the 2009 Yolo County Fair, located at the Yolo County Fairgrounds in Woodland.
