Mercy Welcomes Sacramento County's First Baby of 2012
Sacramento, CA, January 1, 2012 - Baby Luke Gerhart was born at Mercy General Hospital at 12:02 a.m. on Sunday, January 1 - earning his title of Sacramento's first baby of 2012.
Luke's proud parents - mother, Theresa Gerhart and father, Paul Gerhart - welcome the healthy baby boy into the world. Luke, who weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces and measured 22 inches in length, is the Gerhart's first child.
Mercy General Hospital has a long history of caring in the Sacramento area - from newborn and beyond. Since it opened its doors more than 100 years ago, Mercy General has brought thousands of new lives into the world and continues to provide excellent care to 2,700 newborns and their mothers each year. Mercy General Hospital features home-style birthing suites decorated in warm, relaxing tones, where mothers experience labor, birth and recovery in the comfort of one spacious, private room.
The last time Mercy General Hospital welcomed the area's New Year's baby was in 2010 when Ulyessia Wynne and Matthew Moa welcomed baby Kymani Wynne into the world.
