Cameron Park Medical Group to join Mercy Medical Group
The six physician El Dorado County group joins Mercy October 1
Sacramento, CA, July 31, 2009 - The Cameron Park Medical Group (CPMG) has entered into an agreement with Mercy Medical Group (MMG), a service of CHW Medical Foundation, and will become part of Mercy Medical Group, effective October 1, 2009.
CPMG is an established medical provider with offices in Cameron Park and El Dorado Hills, offering primary care services in internal medicine and pediatrics. The group is comprised of board certified clinicians, including three pediatricians, three internists, one nurse practitioner and one physician assistant. All eight providers will become part of MMG and complement the primary and specialty care services MMG currently provides in nearby Folsom.

CPMG is taking several steps to ensure the transition is seamless for their patients. Since MMG works with all the same health insurance providers as CPMG, all patients should have an option to utilize their current CPMG doctor after they become part of MMG. For those patients who are CalPERS members, they have the CalPERS Blue Shield Access+ HMO Plan that provides them access to MMG doctors. Letters have gone out to all CPMG patients.

With this transition, CPMG patients will also have access to excellent hospital services through the Mercy network of hospitals, including nearby Mercy Hospital of Folsom. Mercy Folsom is a full service acute care hospital that has been serving the growing foothills community for nearly 30 years. "Mercy Hospital of Folsom is dedicated to the health and well being of the communities we serve," says Don Hudson, President of Mercy Folsom. "Last year Mercy Folsom opened an expanded 25-bed emergency department with advanced technology such as a telemedicine robot that allows our clinicians to leverage the strength and excellence of Mercy's specialty programs in the Sacramento area."
The two medical groups signed an agreement this month, which becomes effective Thursday, October 1, 2009. After October 1, Mercy Medical Group will renovate CPMG's current El Dorado Hills office and all patients will be seen in the current office in Cameron Park. This relocation is temporary while the El Dorado Hills office is being renovated to better serve the needs of the community. The expanded El Dorado Hills office is expected to be open for patients in December.
