Mercy Opens New Mercy Cancer Center and Mercy Imaging Center

Thursday, January 12, 2012 - The new Mercy Cancer Center and Mercy Imaging Center, which will provide the latest technology and patient-centered, comprehensive care in one convenient location, is open for imaging patients. The Mercy Cancer Center is open and will be fully operational by the end of January.

Mercy's inpatient and outpatient oncology services throughout the community are known collectively as the Mercy Cancer Institute of Greater Sacramento. The Mercy Cancer Institute offers a multidisciplinary approach to quality cancer care with a team of board certified medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, radiation therapists and registered dosimetrists supported by specially trained cancer nurses and staff with a commitment to treating the whole person - physically, emotionally and spiritually - as part of its comprehensive plan of care.

The Mercy Cancer Institute is the first in the region to move toward a centralized outpatient model with the opening of the 35,500-square-foot Mercy Cancer Center and Mercy Imaging Center. Cancer patients and their families will have fewer locations to navigate and the coordinated care from Mercy's multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses and staff means less wait time and more convenience.
